Label rewinder – product & function
Design, function and equipment of the Label rewinder at a glance.

Label rewinder
Core flange, sprung dancer arm and control share one torsionally stiff aluminium profile. The starting point is a 76 mm core and 100 mm web width, with wider webs made to wish. Placed beside the label printer, the unit collects the outgoing liner with no retooling.
From the empty core to a packed roll, a high-pull motor keeps the pulling torque level. Printer stops and pace changes are absorbed by the sprung dancer arm, so the liner never sags at any point. The running direction reverses, and you set the pace steplessly between 0 and 100 percent.
Liner, matrix waste and finished label rolls are stacked layer-true and free of creases. Since web tension stays even, every layer rests firmly and the wind will not tip. Even thin liner and slim matrix waste are thus collected tidily and stable for transport.
The unit arrives ready for service with control and a 230 V plug. Stand it up, slip on the core, thread the backing web, get going. Winds up to 500 mm in diameter and 20 kg are carried with no further unit. Special measurements, bespoke machine building and line fitting we carry out ourselves as the maker, by arrangement.
In label printing the unit usually sits immediately behind the thermal or thermal transfer printer and removes the liner in dispensing mode. Equally, it rolls printed label webs into clearly defined shipping rolls for further processing at the dispenser or in finishing.

Winding drive with a sprung dancer arm
Labels and liner travel onto the core evenly via a strong motor. As the wind diameter grows, the sprung dancer arm absorbs the difference and secures an even pulling torque.
- Even pulling torque from the first to the last wind revolution
- Stepless 0 to 100 percent control tuned to the print pace
- Reversible running direction for inside or outside wound labels
- Built-in control electronics with no separate cabinet
Why the Label rewinder?
Tension-controlled winding drive
The motor maintains an even pulling torque across the web, while the spring-loaded dancer arm balances print speed against liner tension.
Large label rolls without telescoping
Up to a 500 mm outer dimension and 20 kg, the rolls run on cleanly. Layer upon layer forms a transport-firm wind that neither drifts nor walks sideways.
Built-in control on the 230 V mains
Drive and control electronics sit inside the housing, and operation starts straight from 230 V. A separate cabinet is dropped entirely at the labelling station.
In step with printer and dispenser
In dispensing mode the unit tracks the thermal or thermal transfer printer as it runs. Stepless 0 to 100 percent control and a reversible running direction align it with dispensers and applicators.
From the maker, with custom builds
You handle the purchase straight through Evotec, no intermediary involved. Differing cores, wider webs and fitting into running labelling lines follow by arrangement.
Rugged for label converting
A torsionally stiff aluminium profile withstands the sustained load of label production. Final assembly takes place at Evotec GmbH in Arnsberg.
